About Kisspeptin-10
Kisspeptin-10 is the shortest active fragment of kisspeptin (metastin), the peptide encoded by the KISS1 gene. It binds KISS1R (GPR54) on hypothalamic neurons and is the physiological trigger of GnRH release, sitting one level above GnRH itself at the very top of the reproductive hormone axis.
Human research documents robust LH pulses and downstream testosterone elevation after kisspeptin administration, and IVF research uses it as an oocyte-maturation trigger. Because it acts through the natural pulse generator, feedback loops stay intact in research models, unlike direct hormone administration.
Researchers comparing axis-level peptides can also see Gonadorelin (synthetic GnRH), which acts one level below kisspeptin, directly on the pituitary.
